Heigh-ho, heigh-ho

Tuesday, February 27th 2007 - 5:35 pm by Kari

Today was our first day—that is, the first day since Aaron and I have been married that we weren’t together all day. Aaron started his first day as graphic designer for a small printer here in town, so while he’s gainfully employed, his wife is pining away. His boss seems very flexible, so we’re hoping it will eventually turn into a “work at home more than at work" thing, but for now, he’s off to the office every day. Hmmmm—maybe that’s why they call it an “office." Ah, well; it’s been a wonderful seven month honeymoon—but I sure do miss having my hubby around. Especially when I run out of ketchup and can’t get to Wal-Mart to buy more, and then the kitchen sink drain inexplicably decides to go on strike, and I run out of change for the laundry after just one load, and the bird takes his fourth tumble of the day and starts acting mildly injured (he’s cuddling with me instead of chewing on me, which is always a cause for concern). It may be time for another letter to Mr. Murphy. On the upside, we are glad for the steady income.

I remember those days of running out of quarters for laundry. :)

I’m hoping to forget them soon—as soon as our lease is up. I don’t care if we live in a cardboard box after we leave this apartment, as long as it provides a washer and dryer for me! Especially with the baby—I can’t WAIT to try to figure out what to do with the baby while I walk out side and two doors down to get the laundry started.

Ha-ha; we won’t talk about how I’m going to manage washing all those cloth diapers, either:)

Check out a baby moniter & see if it will reach out to the laundry room I did that with Jessie when she was sleeping. I also carried her in the basket with the clothes. Though that wouldn’t work too well with all those dirty cloth diapers:) That is why we finally got a portable washer & dryer.

Is Aaron doing 2 jobs now, or did he finish the previous one?

He finished the other job. He may do some other stuff for them later, however.
