Update on the Dearly Departed Thing in the Crisper Drawer

Monday, March 26th 2007 - 8:20 pm by Kari

We are pleased to inform all of you that the remains of the thingy in the crisper drawer have been laid to rest. We buried them on Saturday—it was a beautiful service; Aaron performed the memorial service as he ran to the dumpster with his hand over his nose, and I gave the eulogy while bending over the now empty gunk-encrusted crisper drawer with a bottle of straight ammonia and a bucket of hot water.

For those wishing to express their sympathy, the family of (what we think used to be) the head of lettuce requests in lieu of flowers that you make a monetary donation to their favorite charity: the Birchler Foundation. They would like to thank you all for your support during this trying time; it has been much appreciated.

My sincerest condolences to your dearly departed… Unfortunately, I have no ready funds available for this wonderful charity: “The Birchler Foundation." However, I do have funds for my favorite charity: the “Julianna Needs A New Pair of Shoes Foundation." I will, therefore, contribute to that fund with regards to “Mr. Letty." (I must have a nickname for this wonderful character with such personality.)

Mr. Letty’s family has asked us to inform you that your condolences do not seem in the least bit sincere and will therefore not be accepted. They also asked us to inform you that they do not recognize the above-mentioned charity as viable.

Tough beans for you, kiddo.

Mr. Letty has a rotten family anyway. I wouldn’t pay any attention to them.
